Last year we'd chosen some fabrics that we thought would be nice against the avocado gelcoat inside the trailer, but upon reviewing this year, we decided to go a different route. We figured it would make more sense to have a more neutral backdrop so that in years to come we could just change out things like pillows should we want an update. That decision made, we found some great grey and white striped outdoor fabric for all of the cushions. For the curtains, we chose an abstract grey and white fabric. Grandma Baggesen and my mom have offered to sew the cushion covers and curtains for us which will be a huge help!
For the pillows we lucked out at JYSK with an outdoor dandelion fabric that ties in both the grey as well as the avocado colour - we couldn't be happier with them. Not to mention they were $7 each! Not to mention they had melamine plates with the same pattern!! Not to get too matchy matchy, we went with a geometric print glass from PC brand and simple white bowls from Dollarama. Cutlery is yet to be discovered...
Covering the table was not as easy as we thought it would be, but about an hour of work and a LOT of stretching and swearing (stretching the fabric, swearing at each other) it's done and looking pretty great.
A simple thing that I'm so excited about is a storage solution that we installed in one of the upper cabinets. It's just 5 cardboard magazine holders that we cut down to size and wedged in place. I envision it as great storage for any canned items as well as apples and oranges - that kind of thing.
Next, we'll install the backsplash and flooring as well as painting the closet door with chalkboard paint (great inside activity for the kiddos on a rainy camping day!) and putting in all of the other final touches. Stay tuned!
